Halloween 2010

Halloween was fun fun fun! Its Luke's favourite holiday of the year because he gets lots and lots of candy and he has the sweetest tooth ever. This year was especially special for him because he got to dress up 3 times and trick or treat 2 times and eat caramel corn for the 1st time! He dressed up for Spooktacular as Lightening McQueen Racing Car Driver and then he dressed the same for school on the Friday before Halloween and the cool thing about the Fernie Academy is the whole school dressed up from the the teachers, the high school kids all the way down to the kindergarteners and Luke thought this was the coolest thing ever!

This year we celebrated Halloween the same as every year in Fernie, with the Howse Family on the most popular street in town for trick or treating (lucky they live on it!). Each year either the moms or the dads take the kids out and the other gets to stay home, by the fire, eat snacks and hand out candy and this year was the girls turn to stay home and it was bliss, drinking tea, eating chocolate caramel cake and handing out a mountain of candy!
2010 was Grace's first trick or treating experience and she thoroughly loved it! the bigger kids ran off ahead with a couple of parents and the little ones lagged behind, knocking on doors and holding their bags high! Grace and her best mate Claire went as a dragon and lion respectively and roared their way into peoples hearts and their candy!!!

This year there were choices with costumes and the kids had a blast:

but the scary (but cute) dragon won:

her big beautiful smile showing the world how incredibly excited she was to be trick or treating

and finally the crew who came trick or treating together, always so much more fun when theres 10 kids descending on houses together!!

But as with Halloween every year, I was happy to see this scary spooky holiday be put to bed along with children who had over indulged in candy and fun! Luke's already talking about his costume for next year :) Making memories, thats what its all about xx
