We've been back in Canada for 3 weeks now and already our vacation seems a life time ago. Its hard to put into words the most amazing time we had catching up with our families and dear friends, but it was the way our children adapted to their new environment so quickly and so completely that blows my mind. When they saw their cousins it was as if they had known them forever and were instantly bonded, it was like they just understood that family was forever and these were their people. The six of them enjoyed each others company and in their own way too. They played and hung out and chatted and took care of each other that warmed our hearts. It wasn't just their cousins they adored, it was their aunties and uncles, Nonna and PJ, Nan and Pop and even the Tui and Jed the dogs, again it was as if they just knew that these were their people and they were going to enjoy every last second of it. I know that we did, we loved being surrounded by family, spending quality time doing nothing but hanging out, of being taken care of, having meals cooked for us and having the time to read a book. We got to spend time with our friends and watch our children become friends with their children.
Our journey back seemed to take forever but again the kids were really great and they both as well as their father got 6 hours sleep on the plane which totally re-energised their batteries and then when we finally landed in Cranbrook at about 9pm (you disembark the plane on the tarmac) and when Luke saw snow he yelled out "look theres snow we're in Canada" everyone laughed around us as he ran towards the snow. The first thing he did when we got to our home was run inside and find he beloved monster truck and started burning round the house with it!

(on the plane from Vancouver to Cranbrook, Grace was asleep before the door was even closed!)

(waiting at Vancouver Airport, didn't want to wear his jersey cause it was too scratchy so had to wear Graces instead!)

Have just got the hang of this (I think) helped by my home help Annabel. I love reading your blog and keeping up to date with all your doings. Luke and the snow when he arrived made me smile. I am watching the olympics every day and am a happy viewer now the skating has started. You are quite a good photographer - some of the nz pics are beautiful Nana xxx
