Meg and Ian

Meg and Ian came and stayed the night with us on their cross country America/Canada whirlwind trip. They arrived early afternoon on a Thursday and left early afternoon on the Friday. It was amazing to see them and catch up on all their news and travels and just have some kiwi warmth in our home! On the Thursday afternoon, we caught up and went for a walk along the river to show them the amazing views and scenery and that evening we ate and chatted and drunk wine. In the morning, we headed up to 901 Fernie to give them a tour of the completed complex and it was exciting to hear people talk about it who haven't been here for long slog of building it. I think you take it for granted when you live it each day but there it was in all its glory for Meg and Ian to enjoy.
Luke and Grace both loved having them here, i'm not sure if its because they picked up on how excited both ren and i were or what, or it could have been the lollies that Meg produced when she walked in the door!!

Meg took some amazing shots while she was here, and i have used them everywhere! She has an amazing talent which has inspired me to get out there and take some more shots again. I don't know how she does it but when i upload her photo's to this blog it is done in rapid time, unlike when i try to do mine! I must ask her that question.
On Saturday before they headed out, we went for coffee and treats and it was such a beautiful fall day that we sat outside and admired the mountains again and watched as Luke and Grace performed!

and then it was time to say goodbye :( too quickly if you asked the Anderson family but we'll see them again next year and may even meet up with them to enjoy the stampede.

and of course we took a photo of the dessert i made to show Ian and Lynn! it was Chocolate Pudding Pie, i didn't beat the cream long enough but it was still tasty .... no complaints from Ian anyway! Thanks Smitten Kitchen for that recipe.
