Labour Day Weekend

Thought I would update you all on the very successful vege gardening attempt! We have harvested carrots, lettuces, raddishes, strawberries, red pepper and yellow beans. We still have cherry tomatoes and potatoes to come. Not sure if the cherry toms are going to make it before it gets too cold considering that this morning there was a sprinkling of SNOW on the Three Sisters ....... snow, Fall has only just begun, what is going on, really SNOW uggghhhhhhhhhhh!

Long yellow beans easily picked from the vine that even a 1 1/2year old can do it.....

Potatoes

This weekend we have just hung out, i painted a dresser that i picked up at a garage sale for Flossie's room, did some gardening and watched a lot of tennis. Miss Melanie Oudin is the sweetest, cutest tennis player ever and she is kicking butt, this morning we watched her game from 10.30am till 1.00pm and then realised holy crap the day is half over! So we headed to the Daycare to do some jobs and got home at 5.30pm with cranky, tired children. Yesterday was Demolition Derby day in Fernie and Honey and Spook headed out for an afternoon of crashing, diggers, forklifts, rednecks and loud music. Spook had a blast and they met up with Ben and Spencer (who's 4) and the littlies wore their earplugs and thoroughly enjoyed the day, getting home after 6pm!

Here is my little friend who is dutifully watching over my garden

  1. I love the raised gardens. We started doing that with out veggies. The ones that aren't raised don't do half as well as the raised.
