Its been a while ........

Wow, its been a while.  So much has happened in our life, that this little blog got pushed aside.  We have moved back to New Zealand!! Yep its happened and it happened fast.  4 weeks from the time Stimps decided he wanted to go home, both him and Grace were on a plane heading to the long white cloud.  Luke and I stayed behind and he finished school while i sold our house and wrapped up as much as i could before we headed on a plane 6 weeks later! Life is bittersweet now, we are home surrounded by family and friends and the kids adore being able to hang out with their cousins but some days i feel like there was a death in the family cause it happened so quick.

Onwards and upwards, we are starting a new journey in life.  We have moved into a rental, and its not just any rental, its a mansion! We got lucky, although stepping down from this house is going to be extremely hard.  Its huuuuuuuuge, it has an incredible view, its only about 8-10 years old ......

This is the view coming from the driveway as it winds it way down from the road and up towards the house.
Standing on the deck doing a sweeeet panoramic shot, kind of worked, kind of didn't! This is looking back towards the road.
Lying in bed, watching the sun rise.  Beautiful, peaceful and a bit chilly with no curtains in the winter!
The view, standing at the kitchen island, preparing dinner as the sun beams in through these bifold doors.

Not too shabby, not sure how we are ever going to move out of this and into any other rental that is the same rent!!

Living back in the country has its positives and negatives. Positives : quiet, beautiful, room to move, baby lambs, country school.  Negatives : country bumpkin internet, boring nz tv, no spur of the moment dinner options or crafts to make, have to drive everywhere, no-one to talk to!

More shots to come .......

  1. Wow, that's a whirlwind of a move back and will undoubtedly take time to adjust to, but it will be great to have family close and those views are incredibly beautiful. Wishing you and your family all the very best in settling back in. Visiting via Kiwi Mummy Blogs. Sarah

  2. Wow! i know all about whirlwind moves back to NZ and that feeling that comes after it too. We decided to move back at the start of January (2013) and my hubby started a new job here in March. I am still struggling to settle back into life in NZ so dont be too hard on yourself. Your views are amazing!
