Sandy Shores

Every summer, we head to Sandy Shores to spend some time with our friends the Tress's.  They have a trailer parked right by the beach and a boat for cruising!

We headed down for the day and the sun was shinning but there was no beach! We've had soooooo much rain this Spring and Summer that the lake is FULL and full of driftwood.  But no beach didn't bother the kids, they just spent longer in the water.

Luke was anxious getting off the boat because we moored in a little inlet as there was no beach. But he took his time, worked out how he wanted to do it and then gradually made his way down the ladder until he was in the water with no hands! Then there was no stopping him, "lets race mom"!
Grace is always so scared to get on the boat, but once she is there, she loves how fast it goes, how it jumps over the waves and usually the boat lulls her to sleep.  Yesterday was no different, except Grandpa Joe bought them ice-creams!!

see mom, look what i got! cookies and cream ice cream and it was gooooooood!
Once they were in the water, there was no getting them out! Thats the little bit of sand they had this year, compared to a beach every other year!
Above to the left is a shot of the camper up on the hill and normally at the bottom of that bank is a beach but at the moment its only driftwood and water.

There is nothing better than the wind in your face and your hair! So relaxing, you never want it to end ....
but it does and boy is it  haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard work, playing, swimming, eating ice cream in the sun and we are just cream crackered!
