Camping with the Ortons

Two weekends ago we met up with the Ortons and went camping for the weekend. We stayed at the KOA Whitefish ..... an actual campground .... a place none of us could remember camping in for a while. It was mean't to be the halfway pointish from Missoula to Fernie but unfortunately the Ortons hit lots of roadworks making their journey longer than it should have been. So we arrived on the Friday afternoon and got a campsite that was (supposedly) big enough for 2 family tents, which it was after a lot of moving constructed tents around the site to find the BEST possible scenario! It was a great spot for the kids cause it had a petting zoo, mini golf, pool, playground and these really cool low rider bikes and best of all they had a free breakfast each morning from 7am to 10am and where the breakfast was they had old style arcade games and a pool table and ping pong, so the kids would eat their food and then go crazy running round in there. Spook loves camping, he loves sleeping in the tent and checking out other people's sites and chasing the chipmunks all around the campground! On the Saturday we headed to Whitefish Lake for the day which was great, parents and kids all had a great time and that evening roasted marshmallows by the fire. Sunday before leaving we headed to a fantastic park in Whitefish to burn a little energy off and play with some water guns. As always Spook and So laughed and played and read stories to each other and really enjoyed each others company. Noie and Flossie had a few moments but happy to hang out following the big kids. Our kids had such an amazing time and went non stop that they slept the entire way home in the car, even through customs which is usually when they wake up. Thanks Ortons for a camping catch up and we can't wait to do it again before the summer is over.
