Thanksgiving Missoula

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Missoula with our extended family ..... friends who are family. It still amazes me how spending time with these people can calm my homesickness, it warms my heart to be around them in a very old and familiar way. Its hard to describe the sense of belonging I feel when I spend time with them. This post is going to be predominantly photos and sorry Onewherians, we forgot to take the Onewhero boys and their kids photo that we normally take! So here they are and I'll write a caption for some, because they'll need explaining!

Making sure Baby Annabel is well hydrated during the 5 hour journey!

Driving conditions not the greatest!

Snuggling in with Baby Annabel

At least its warmer the further south we go!

Still crappy conditions, but only 36 miles to go!

Dinner and then games!
Centre of gravity game that boys CAN'T play, but so funny for girls to watch!! cause we can do it!

Transformer, an accessory to the costumes that Luke and Noah wore ALL weekend.

my contribution to dessert - chocolate pate - decadent!
Watching New Zealand beat Wales in Rugby

Evie (new but old friend) playing with Grace
Luke playing a puzzle game on Sara's Ipod Touch
Harry Potter! Watching a movie before bed.
Reading to Annabel on the journey home Stopped for lunch!
We spent 4 days just hanging out with our friends, the boys attached a couple of sleds to the back of Taz's truck and towed the kids around the block!! The kids loved it while the moms inside watched out the window at the shennigans!! We met new friends, welcomed old friends back, ate good food, drank good drinks, playing funny funny games and then it was homeward bound all too soon.

  1. YAY, what an awesome way to spend the holiday. We were blessed too, we had kiwi friends to stay for the week! So lovely to see and catch up with them and they loved experiencing an American Thanksgiving! You are right, it really helps to ease the homesickness! Jennifer x

P.S. We just had our first snowfall this past weekend, 5 inches! I'm sure that seems like nothing to you up there in Canada! :o)
