Well we made it safe and sound! It was a long day but totally worth it. We headed to Cranbrook at 9.30am on Sunday morning and boarded our domestic flight to Vancouver. Luke surprised us both by totally loving the take off and it was Grace that got a little scared but by the second flight she was great.

We got to Vancouver and so began the longest wait in history it felt like. We were there for about 6 hours and Grace didn't nap and Luke couldn't get off the travelator!! 6 hours felt more like 12 hours. We boarded our plane finally and got settled and thank goodness we got an extra seat, although next time i think i would bring Grace's car seat cause then she could sleep comfortably and still. Finally dinner was served, eaten and cleared and then they turned off the lights. Luke was enjoying his own show with his own headphones on but Grace was losing the plot, it was about 11pm by this stage and with no nap all day, she was well past the over tired mark. It didn't take long, we walked up and down and up and down a few times and sang a sing rhyme that i made up on the spot and finally she went to sleep. We lay her across the seats and Luke decided he wanted to sleep on the floor and the Air Hostess/Host seemed to ignore that he was down there for nearly the entire flight and then about 4 hours before landing, the grumpy one discovered him and said wake him up!! YIPPEEEEE we were so excited!!! Onwards and upwards, we had to wake them up sooner or later. Please don't be misled, they didn't just go to sleep and stay that way ..... Grace couldn't get comfy so woke up a lot and because she had gone to bed crying, thats the way she woke up each time!!

It was a blessing to be landing in Auckland and because we were lucky to be seated close to the exit of the plane, it made disembarking easier. Yay we had arrived, Luke wanted to wheel his own bag through customs and out to see his grandparents and I said to him well don't drop it as soon as you see Nana and Poppa and he said he wouldn't and that he wanted to wheel it, so off we headed and you guessed it as soon as he saw them he dropped his bag and ran straight to Nan for cuddles! Home to the Farm with a stop on the way for breakfast ... Pies and cups of tea .... YUMO!

The first few days on the farm were great, the weather was crap but it mean't that we stayed inside and just relaxed which was really nice. Then the weekend arrived and I headed to Dubbo with my mum and brother and girlfriend for our very good friend/brother's wedding for 3 days. Home for a few more days and now I've bought the kids to Foxton to hang out with Nonna, PJ, Skotti and Jayne which they are loving. It feels like it has been a very busy holiday already and I haven't even managed to catch up with anyone yet!!! All in good time I know!
Below are shots taken killing time at Vancouver Airport .....
